Public impact and engagement

These sessions are designed for HDR students and will cover a range of topics that will assist them to develop as researchers.

We hear a lot about public impact and engagement but exactly what this means can be unclear. This session will give you a chance to work through with your peers the questions of what counts as ‘industry engagement’ for your research, who your ‘public’ is, diverse ways in which sociology can relate to the public and ways to market the innovative aspects of your research.

The session will be facilitated by Dr Maria Hynes from the School of Sociology.
